There was some kind of medieval festival held in nearby Eze village a couple of weeks ago. As I was passing by I noticed some falconers were exhibiting some of their birds. I sympathise with those who disapprove of such activities and yet I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of these beautiful birds.

This is a female Eagle Owl of a Southern race which is lighter in colour than its northern counterparts. I was told that iris colour becomes redder with age.
